The use of medical software by hospitals, health care providers and health insurance providers has become inevitable. Today, many processes and medical devices used to control and diagnose patients are controlled by medical software. Devices such as heart rate monitor and blood pressure monitor uses medical software to read the output of the sensors and provide an interpretable report to the doctor. Medication pumps that are used to pump a certain amount of plasma or medicine to the patient’s body are regulated by medical software to control the timing and the volume of input. Outputs of scanners are read by medical software to generate an image of the scan that can be easily read by doctors.
Medical software is also used in implantable pacemakers and defibrillators for therapy delivery. Electronic Medical Engineering (EMR) and Health Record Software (HRS) are examples of software systems that are designed for the use of healthcare providers.
Medical Insurance providers use software to evaluate claims and to manage each of the client’s insurances. Major medical disabilities have medical coverage under various medical programs and medical plans. All of these data are manipulated, sorted, scheduled and processed using medical software. Hospitals have cashless medical claims procedure and this could not be possible without the help of medical software.
